Ontario Trillium Fund Announcement

We are happy to announce that we were successful in our bid for funding to launch two new youth programs to help us grow our High School programs.

We are immensely grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their support of our club.

New to the club this summer will be two youth programs:

  • Junior Learn to Row Camp
  • Follow-up program: Junior Skills Development.

The purpose of the Junior Learn to Row Camp is to give those 12 and older a chance to learn to row in a relaxed summer atmosphere. As well as a pathway forward from LTR, the Junior Skills Development program will give high school students, with some rowing experience, a recreational summer alternative to the competitive program.

The Junior Learn to Row Camp will be a one-week morning camp with 3.5 hours daily of rowing instruction with an emphasis on enjoying the great outdoors. Once graduated, they can join the 2x weekly Junior Skills Development program to improve their skills. Those with more experience can hone their skills while novice rowers can build confidence in the boats. All in a no-pressure environment.

All coaches have proper police background checks, Standard First Aid and CPR, and Learn to Row coach training.

Funding highlights include:

  • 2 concept II rowing machines
  • 2 coach boats with motors
  • 1 Lightweight convertible 4-/4x rowing shell
  • Admin fees

Additional details will soon be up on our website. Please spread the word to your neighbours, friends, colleagues and family. Let’s get more youth rowing!

Adult Learn To Row:

Registration is now open for LTR Adults! Let’s all be club ambassadors; word of mouth is our most valuable advertising.
