Junior Learn-to-Row Camp (Ages 11+)

Junior Learn-to-Row Camp

Youth Rowing has been proven to improve not only physical fitness but also mental health and build confidence. Our Jr. Learn to Row camp is a half-day morning program with an emphasis on physical activity, fun and above all water safety. Participants learn parts of the boat, boat handling, and rowing technique. Our camp is taught by qualified counsellors trained in first aid and Learn to Row coaching.

When is it?

There are 2 camp options:

3.5 hours/day x 5 days 3.5 hours/day x 5 days

What does it cost?

Week 1 or 2: $350 (Includes park pass and RCA/RowON fees )
Week 1 plus week 2 : $350 + $290 = $640

How many people can sign up?

Maximum number of participants per session = 12 (ratio of 1:4)

Do I need prior experience?

No rowing experience is necessary. Participants must be able to swim. A swim test will be performed on the first day of camp. PFDs will be available.

Safety

Junior participants will be supervised by experienced coaches in fully-safety-equipped motorized coach boats. All coaches have proper police background checks, Standard First Aid and CPR, and Learn to Row coach training along with ethics training.

What do I wear?

Close fitting shorts (spandex bike-type shorts are ideal) or tights, and a t-shirt (with a sweatshirt or fleece if it is cold). Remember to wear/bring socks and a water bottle.
