Rowing for Everyone

Located on Guelph Lake, the Guelph Rowing Club offers programs for new, recreational & competitive rowers.

Welcome to the Guelph Rowing Club

The Guelph Rowing Club was established by volunteers in the summer of 1999. The club is committed to establishing a permanent rowing club at Guelph Lake as an ongoing legacy of the facilities and operations established for the 1998 Ontario Summer Games. Guelph Lake is an ideal location for the Guelph Rowing Club. It is a serene body of water of optimum size for a training course, and the beauty of the surrounding landscape adds to the experience of participating in invigorating recreational activities.

  • Cold Water Rules

The lake’s temperature is below 10 degree point so we are in Cold Water Rules.  Cold Water Rules mean that all rowers must be accompanied by a motorized safety boat. One safety boat will be responsible for a maximum of 9 athletes (8+) or a maximum of 4 smaller boats where the number of athletes cannot exceed 9.  Shells must remain within 200 meters of the safety boat. It is also important to bring appropriate layers to row in and packing dry clothes to change in to can be helpful!
