Recreational

These programs are designed for novice and experienced rowers who want to row for fun, fitness and friendship

Recreational Rowing:

There are several scheduled rows throughout the week.   You set your own rowing schedule based on fitness goals and availability to be at the lake.    Row as often as you want.

Participants are required to complete the ‘Learn To Row‘ program or have prior on water rowing experience. If you have just completed a Learn to Row course, then register for the Recreational Novice program. Otherwise register for one of the other Recreational Rowing options.

What boats do we row in?   Doubles, quads, four and eights.

How long is the season?  Mid May to mid October. The season usually ends on Thanksgiving weekend, with water temperatures and weather permitting.

What kind of setting is it?:   Rowing outings are informal and lightly competitive. More formal coaching is available to further develop your sweep or sculling rowing and racing technique.

What kind of development/opportunities do you offer?:   Occasional clinics will be offered, at a fee, to encourage technical development. Attendance at Recreational Regattas is not mandatory, but is encouraged. Touring events are optional and available through other clubs.

What does my fee cover?:  The membership fee covers the items mentioned below, under the registration information.  Please note that membership fees do not include regatta fees of any kind. Fees also do not include uniforms and other clothing, which is available for purchase.
