About GRC

The Guelph Rowing Club located in Guelph Eramosa Township, Wellington County, at Guelph Lake acknowledges that the club resides on the treaty land and territories of the Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations.

As settlers we are thankful for the opportunity to row and coach on Guelph Lake, provide training, develop friendships, engage our surrounding communities and be stewards of the land that the boat house sits on and we access as members of the Guelph Rowing Club.  We respect the water, wind, sun and moon and value the interconnectivity of life and water. We thank the generations of Indigenous peoples who have been stewards of this land and continue to be stewards of the land  for thousands of years on which the Guelph Rowing Club resides.

We acknowledge local nations: Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, Attiwonderonk (Neutral), Mississauga and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We commit to continually learning the truth of historic and present-day wrong doings and work towards reconciliation.

Vision: To champion rowing, instill a lifelong passion for the sport, encourage excellence, healthy living, and friendships in a beautiful natural setting.

Mission: The Guelph Rowing Club is a community-based, volunteer organization inspiring a life-long love of rowing in athletes ranging in age and ability.  We strive to promote rowing excellence through structured programs, quality coaching and equipment.  We aim to create an environment that ensures safety, enjoyment of all, and fosters friendships.

Mandate: Provide rowing opportunities for the people of Guelph and surrounding region

A special thank you to our generous supporters The City of Guelph and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
